Zetman (en)
Zetman is a dark superhero story about Jin Kanzaki, a boy with a mysterious power that allows him to transform into a superhuman being called a Zet. He is raised by a scientist grandfather to fight monstrous creatures known as Players, which hide among humans and feed on them. Caught between his duty as a protector and the monstrous urges of his own transformation, Jin struggles with his identity and the violence around him. Meanwhile, a wealthy corporation creates its own heroes called Alphas to battle the Players, led by a young man named Kouga Amagi, who represents a more controlled, idealistic vision of heroism. The story explores the clash between Jin’s brutal, instinctual justice and Kouga’s corporate-sponsored heroics, while both face the growing threat of the Players and the dark secrets behind their existence. Readers enjoy Zetman for its mature, gritty tone, emotional depth, and moral ambiguity, as well as its stylish combat and tragic characters who question what it truly means to be a hero or a monster.
