Smokin' Parade follows a teenager named Kakuji Yokujo who lives in a world where humans coexist with "Spirits" that grant wishes but also cause disasters. After a Spirit kills his family, Kakuji is revived by a girl named Aoi and becomes a "Shikigami," a human-spirit hybrid forced to battle monstrous "Netsu" creatures. Working for a secret organization, Kakuji hunts down these monsters while struggling with his own humanity and the truth behind the Spirits.
