Buso Renkin follows Kazuki Muto, a high school student who is killed protecting a girl from a monstrous creature but is revived by her using a mysterious alchemical device called a Kakugane. This device grants him a special weapon called a Buso Renkin, a manifestation of his willpower that he uses to fight other homunculi, man-made monsters that feed on humans.
